The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Having been a fan of The Chronicles of Narnia since before the first new movie came out, naturally my first choice for my author portfolio was C.S. Lewis. I have long admired him for his brilliant mind and his amazing stories, and love to read his works over and again. One of my favorite stories out of The Chronicles of Narnia is the fifth book, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. As the third movie in the Narnia franchise came out this month, I felt it was more than appropriate to study the book the movie is based on.
I think The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is an amazing book. Even though it is considered a children's story, it contains hidden meanings that delve into the topics of temptation, redemption, the Atonement, and other spiritual topics. It explores our personal relationships with Christ, and how we cannot be saved or redeemed without his help. And, most importantly, it helps us look at our own lives and consider how close we are to the Savior.
